It’s been an extremely dry winter here in southern Colorado and this rainy week we’ve been having is SO needed. However, It does give me a bit of cabin fever! So i’ve been making it my mission this week to get creative with activities for Asher and I so we don’t go bonkers! I thought I would share some of my ideas with all of you just incase you find yourself on the verge of bonkers ; )
- MOVE! – Dance parties are one of our personal faves , so we crank the tunes and dance around. Asher gets a kick out of my “awesome” moves and loves to boogie himself! * Added bonus is the cuteness!*
- Change up your routine- Do some “out of the ordinary” things like : Eat breakfast on the floor picnic style, or play with a new toy, let your little help with a chore or make a treat together.
- Get out!- Ok, yes… I realize it’s raining…. but go outside. Sit on the porch or go to a place in your town that has a covered outside area. Take some toys and play! The fresh air and change of scenery is great for you and will help SO MUCH with keeping you sane!
A quick walk in-between rain storms!
4. Visit the Library – Asher and I frequent the library . We go to story time a few times a week ( confession: i enjoy it just as much as he does) and on rainy days we go play in the children’s room! He loves it and its a nice change for him. Also, check your local library for events! We recently got to meet Elephant and Pig( from the Mo Willems books) and it was a blast!5. Pinterest!- DUDE! If you are not one of the millions using Pinterest… what rock have you been hiding under!? j/k! No .. but really!? JOIN! It’s amazing , and at times… a lifesaver! There are a million ideas for activities and craft ideas for every age! A rainy day must!
